Four Simple Steps To Show You The Way To Change An Air Filter For A Car
Learning how to change an air filter in a car or automobile is actually really simple, and can be done in 4 very simple steps. Your air car filter does a very important job! It makes sure your car runs well by only allowing clean air to rush through into the engine. They should be changed every now and then, and if they are not, they can begin to lose there power in keeping the dirty, unclean air out. Obviously, this can then lead to problems further down the line within your cars engine and performance, so it is very important to check it every now and then and change it when necessary. So, what do you need to do and let's look at how to change an air filter in a car?
1. First up, flip the hood and make sure it is propped up safely, you don't want to be squashed by a falling hood halfway through. Locate the filter housing and locate the metal clips. These need to be flipped downwards and can sometimes be tight. So, make sure to use a safe tool to help if they appear to be struggling to move.
2. The nuts to the air car filter are usually securely set aside. Locate the nuts, which are generally circular or rectangular in shape and remove them. Take note of how it is positioned at this point so you know how to secure it properly when changing.
3. Take the new air car filter that you are changing and place that one in the same place as the old filter was placed. The best part is when learning how to change an air filter in a car is that if you place the new one in wrong the top won't close when trying to re-house it. So, it is very hard to go wrong with this.
4. After the new filter is in place, close and lock the top. If you have issues with this, or are finding it hard to lock down, check the rubber gasket inside as this may need placing properly still. Once locked down, close the hood and say hello to learning how to change an air filter in a car.
